According to Business Partner program between
Arsenal and Lotus Development Corporation the Arsenal company released the new version
Reanimator for Lotus Notes. Reanimator works with Lotus Notes v. 4.5 and more under
Windows 95, NT.
How to work with Reanimator in Lotus Notes
After installation, Reanimator builds in Notes and in Action section of main menu
Reanimator and Reanimator properties items appear. The user can choose Russian or English
language for dialog and new menu items. This is all, what is necessary for reconstruction
of almost all incorrectly coded Russian-language messages. Having started, Reanimator
reconstructs the initial coding automatically. The important particularity of Reanimator
for Lotus is that the decoding of various document fields (not only visible) can be made
independently for each field. Customizing Reanimator, it is possible to chose the way of
decoding and displaying the result - either to decode the whole document or to decode each
field according to individual scheme. And if the document is in edit mode, it is possible
simply to replace the existing abracadabra. Moreover, by means of Lotus Notes scripts and
system sources system administrator can point out the fields for decoding and reflect this
procedure on Button bar.
The approach, applied for integration Reanimator in Lotus Notes, enables to use Reanimator
for reconstruction not only e-mail messages, but any document. It may be useful, for
example, to translate the text from Macintosh to Windows coding. There is also the
possibility for manual decoding. This may be useful when one text contain several
differently coded extracts.
